The key feature of this design is a central cubby hole that is flush with the doors/drawers. To achieve this the offset of the central space was set to -20 to bring it flush with where the doors and drawer faces will be. The system then decide to construct this as three separate carcasses. End panels covering the side of the three carcasses then give the impression of a single unit.
C515 (Pantry) is a Kitchen Pantry design that features in the Cabcode catalogue — a tall floor-standing unit with a bottom bank of drawers, a pair of external drawers above them, and a shelved door section lit by an LED channel. This is my own custom variant of that design: the carcass is 100mm taller than the catalogue version, and the bottom drawer bank has three drawers instead of two.
A tall, shallow (1400 x 2130 x 400mm) bookshelf built as a grid of three separate carcasses standing side by side, joined with cabineo connectors. Most of the grid is open, adjustable shelving, but a handful of individual cubby holes — scattered around the grid rather than grouped together — are closed off with their own hinged door, mixing open display shelving with a few pockets of concealed storage.
A wide, low sideboard (1350 x 2100 x 670mm) built as a large set of drawers for a record and CD collection. The top row is two wide columns each holding four shallower drawers sized for CD storage, while the bottom row has four single deeper drawers sized for LPs. In the middle of the bottom row, one compartment is left open as a shallow, recessed browsing cubby instead of a drawer — its own depth and front offset were overridden independently of the carcass depth, so it sits set back from the drawer fronts around it. Drawer height, plinth height and the cubby's width are all driven by design variables ($BOTTOMDRAWER, $PLINTHHEIGHT, $CUBBYWIDTH) rather than being hard-coded, so the whole layout can be re-tuned from one place.
